George Square, Glasgow
The city of Glasgow is the UK's favourite shopping destination after London, and as well as the superb range of shops it has many attractive locations for walking. Footpaths extend alongside the River Clyde, from the Science Centre at Pacific Quay along to Glasgow Green. The River Kelvin also has attractive paths along its banks, and parks close by including the Botanic Gardens.
And of course, there are many other locations for walking just beyond the city boundaries - in the Campsies or beside Loch Lomond for example.
The first Glasgow walking story links various historic locations, and is just right if you want to avoid spending too much time and money in the shops!
