The scenery of the Scottish Highlands and Islands is known throughout the world. There is further variety with the lowlands, coastline and southern uplands. Consequently Scotland is one of the best places in the world for hiking, whether in remote wilderness areas or Scotland's tranquil countryside.
We have been gathering stories of walks from all corners of Scotland, including many lesser known hiking routes.
They include the first Kids' Walking Story from Perth, other walks from the East of Scotland, and from the beautiful Isle of Gigha in the West. Hikes up several munros (peaks over 3000 ft / 915m) have been added by new contributors. And now there's a walking story and photos about Glenfinnan Bothy that doesn't quite fit in any of the categories below!
