Zhaoxing hill walk, Guizhou, China

Summary

An interesting walk up through villages, over narrow and slippery paths, and down over rice terraces, with many beautiful and interesting views along the way.

  • Best bit – saying hello to all the friendly village people who we saw along the way
  • Worst bit – falling over and cutting my hand
  • Funniest bit – slipping and falling into a flooded rice field
  • Word of warning – the Mediterranean-looking orchard would probably be impossible to climb in the summer when it’s wet and even more slippery
  • Scary bits – Narrow slippery paths with steep drops
  • I didn’t expect to see a little man driving a horse and cart looking like he didn’t belong in the 21st Century
