How do I contribute a story - or a picture?

First of all, you need to register as a member.
This is easy and free, and you can choose whether you wish to have a personal profile included on the site.
- Then you can submit a story of a walk on an easy-to-complete form.
- You can also submit one or more photos on their own, for the Gallery, with a few words of description.
There are three main things to think about when putting together your story:
- what was special about this walk for me?
- was there anything amusing or different that will interest other people?
- what should I point out to other walkers so that they can make the most of the walk? Any warnings, or helpful advice?
Use the Summary space on the form to describe the walk in a couple of sentences, and give your main memories pieces of advice as bullet points. Look at some of the existing stories on the site to see how others have done this.
The Key Facts will help other people to know how long and difficult the walk is, and how to get there. People will use these facts, and the Summary, to decide which stories to read.
The Story is the main section, where you can describe your walking experience more fully. Use your own style - see the different styles used for Lochnagar , the Cuillin Ridge, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Moon Hill, and Kilimanjaro.
Images can be included - up to 8 in all, and the first one will also be featured on the Summary page. Put in a brief caption.
If you have more photos to include, you can put these onto a Gallery page which will be linked to your Story. Simply create this from the Story form.
If your photos are high-resolution, they may take a little while to upload to the site - please be patient.
