The site is not restricted to the walks that require a pair of heavy boots, a rucksack and a woolly hat!
Cities are popular places to visit around the world, and usually the best way to explore them is on foot. But if you are new to a city - on holiday or on business - how do you know which are the best parts to visit? You can ask a friend who's been before - and Walking Stories can put you in touch with a growing community of people, some of whom may be able to help.
To find the town and city walks just go to the country page, and click on "walk type" heading to see the list.
You can read walking stories for several cities in Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima). There's a collection of walks around Tromso, north of the Arctic Circle, and a link to a story about a district of Paris.
There are walks in and around Dundee in eastern Scotland - and with its range of visitor attractions it well deserves to be included along with these more famous locations. Have a read, and find out more. And Glasgow and Edinburgh!
There are several walks from San Francisco - around the city itself, and in the mountains within reach of an easy day-trip.
We'd welcome your stories of walks you have enjoyed around your favourite town or city. Just go to the Add a Story page to find out how.
One Step Beyond - If you are visiting a city, often you want to get out to the countryside for a day. Many of the walks are within easy reach of city centres.
