Prague Castle and Petrin Hill walk
Prague Castle sits in the West of the city centre. It is easily accessible from Wenceslas Square via Charles Bridge, some of the highlights of this beautiful city.
This walk is from a holiday my finacee Alison and I went on in February 2007 when she had a few weeks off uni and I took a few days off my classes! We were extremely lucky with the weather, it was only overcast on one day of the four we were there and sunny the rest of the time - remarkable for February in the Czech Republic.
We walked the Castle and Petrin Hill walk on the Saturday of our holiday, from early morning until late afternoon, we took in the Strahov Monastery Pivovar (Monastery brewery bar) for lunch, and Cafe Savoy for a coffee break after the hill.
The highlights of the walk were:
- The views from both the Cathedral in the Castle grounds over the city, and the view from the mini eiffel tower in Petrin Hill Park.
- Photo opportunities all over the place!
- Pivovar homebrew - a great beer!
