</p>
<p><p>This is the story of an excellent, relatively easy and fairly short winter hike up one of the two munros overlooking Loch an Daimh, at the western end of Glen Lyon. The starting height is around 400m, so it&#39;s a shorter climb than most others, although the ascent was made trickier for us by frozen ground and large areas of ice on the track. Further up, it was an easy hiking trail to the top, and the clouds melted away to give us stunning views. This was the third walk I&#39;d done with the Easywalking Group, and it was at least as rewarding as the other two (see below). </p><ul style="margin-bottom: 0px"><li><span style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: arial"><strong>It was most memorable </strong>for the sense of remoteness, far up Glen Lyon </span></span></li><li><span style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: arial"><strong>The best bit </strong>was when the clouds disappeared and the summit was suddenly in sunshine</span></span> </li><li><span style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: arial"><strong>The worst bit </strong>was climbing up the icy track </span></span></li><li><span style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: arial"><strong>The funniest bit </strong>was the quick salsa performance </span></span></li><li><span style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: arial"><strong>Words of warning </strong>&ndash; this reminded us to take care of ice even when the weather turns mild </span></span></li></ul><span style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: arial"><p style="margin-bottom: 0px" class="style13 style16"><a href="http://www.walkingstories.com/region.cfm/region_page_ID/16/country_ID/242/menu_ID/2/region_ID/39/title/Loch%20Tay,%20Aberfeldy%20and%20Glen%20Lyon">Go to the Loch Tay regional page for other walks in the area &gt;</a></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0px" class="style13 style16">Other Easywalking Group walks on the site: </p><ul style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px"><li><font color="#666633"><a href="http://www.walkingstories.com/story_details.cfm/story_ID/8/menu_ID/2/title/Loch_Brandy">Glen Clova walk</a>, Angus </font></li><li><font color="#666633"><a href="http://www.walkingstories.com/story_details.cfm/story_ID/10/menu_ID/2/title/Ben_Cleuch_Ochil_Hills">Ben Cleuch</a></font> (Ochil Hills, near Stirling) </li><li><font color="#666633"><a href="http://www.walkingstories.com/story_details.cfm/story_ID/11/menu_ID/2/title/Ben_Starav_Glen_Etive">Ben Starav</a></font> , Glen Etive </li><li><a href="http://www.walkingstories.com/story_details.cfm/story_ID/23/menu_ID/2/title/Ben_Vorlich_2nd_Story">Ben Vorlich and Stuc a&#39; Chroin</a></li></ul></span></span></p>
