Frances' side of the story - Isle of Gigha, Argyll, Scotland

I most liked the kitten that followed us. it was funny because it ran very fast and climbed up loads of trees. It went away and then suddenly it was back again.

And I liked lying on the grass on the hill - it was nice and soft. You could see the ferry from the top of the hill. I sat with my Mum and watched it

I liked going round the gardens. I liked the path through the bamboo just like pandas have. The peacocks were weird. There was a wooden train and a wooden seal and I lay down on it. There was a funny wooden pig too. I saw this horse on a stone and tried to get on it but it was wobbly, and then I nearly trod on a bee and it could have stung me. When the others were looking at the lovely view I went ahead and found a little cave with cobwebs in it. I was scared so I ran back. I found a stick to walk with and brought it home.

The walks were not too long and we had some breaks. The hills weren't very high. I liked running ahead. It was good having so much space. We went round a churchyard but I didn't really like that much.

The ferry was a bit windy outside at the top. On the way back we stayed inside.

We went along the beach and over the rocks and looked for things in the rock pools but we didn't see much except seaweed and worm holes in the sand.

I liked the bit where the cows were staring at us. We were trying not to get our feet wet in the muddy bits. Then Dad said come this way and he went into the mud up to his knee and fell over. That was funny. Mum had just gone into some mud too. I was lucky because I didn't sink in the mud. I had fun climbing over rocks. It was quite a hard walk and we didn't get as far as the cave. I wanted to see the cave.

I had a nice bedroom in the hotel with Owen and we heard some beeping noise that got faster and faster but we didn't know what it was. I had some fish in batter that I liked for lunch and so I had it again for tea. And I had a pasta bake as well.

Mum got me a packet of things to do from the school and I found the answers to the quizzes but Mum took them away. I liked the colouring in and it told me about the island.

I liked being on an island because I'd like to live there. We had a look in the doorway of the school when we went past but there weren't any children there. It would be funny to have about thirteen children from the whole school in one class.
